Travel information

"Leonardo da Vinci" intercontinental airport, located in Fiumicino, is Europe's sixth largest in terms of number of passengers and provides travelers with the most modern services and facilities. The centre of Rome can be easily reached from the airport by train, bus, or taxi.

Moving by train is the fastest option. There is a direct connection with the main train station (Termini) serviced by the "Leonardo Express" line. The travel is approximately 30 minutes long and its cost € 11.00. There are also several different bus lines that are able to take you to the center of Rome (usually with some intermediary stops). COTRAL provides most of these lines.

The center of Rome can also be reached by taxi. The cost of the service is € 40.00, baggage included, for a maximum of four passengers, for all the destinations inside the Mura Aureliane which delimitate the central area of the city. The cost for the service is the same also from Rome to Fiumicino. The cars for the taxi service of the city of Rome are white and can be recognized by the sign "TAXI" on the top and by the identifying licence number on the doors, on the back and inside the car. We strongly advise you to take only licensed metered taxi.

Ciampino airport is Rome's second airport. It is closer to the centre of Rome than the "Leonardo Da Vinci" airport and it is used by many budget airlines. It does not have any direct train connection with the centre of Rome. Instead, daily connections between the airport and Termini main train station are guaranteed by the bus services operated by ATRAL, COTRAL, SIT, and TERRAVISION. Alternatively, the center of Rome can also be reached by taxi. The cost of the service is € 30.00, baggage included, for a maximum of four passengers, for all the destinations inside the Mura Aureliane which delimitate the central area of the city. The cost for the service is the same also from Rome to Ciampino. The cars for the taxi service of the city of Rome are white and can be recognized by the sign "TAXI" on the top and by the identifying licence number on the doors, on the back and inside the car. We strongly advise you to take only licensed metered taxi.
